550 Beam Sofa is a modular seating system designed by Patricia Urquiola for Cassina, with tubular steel frame, polyurethane foam padding, black anodized aluminum or gunmetal base and removable cover in fabric or leather.
Elegant, versatile and contemporary, 550 Beam Sofa by Patricia Urquiola is an innovative sofa system that, thanks to the support of the geometric beam, allows you to combine different elements and compose solutions in the name of style, relaxation and functionality. Characterized by the contrast between the geometric line of the base and the softness of the soft and welcoming volumes, thanks to the overlap between the high backrest and the adjustable armrest, it creates the effect of a comfortable and enveloping embrace. The attention to detail is highlighted in the perimeter seam that outlines the profile of the seats and embellishes the elegant and refined aesthetics of the Cassina-style project. The system includes three sofas and various modular elements including seats, tables and the pouf.

Patricia Urquiola, Spanish designer and architect, is among the most brilliant female personalities of the contemporary design panorama. In 2001 she founded the Patricia Urquiola Studio with Alberto Zontone, dealing with product design, architecture, artistic direction and strategic consultancy. The core of her style is a fundamental principle: conceiving spaces or objects in relation to people.
