Re-Chair powered by Illy is the first chair created from post-industrial coffee pods and produced by Kartell. Stackable with up to 6 chairs, it can also be used in outdoor spaces.
Re-Chair powered by Illy is the result of a continuous research process that Kartell develops through materials and technological innovation. Together with Illy, an important Italian coffee producer, it creates a process of regeneration of the material of the pods, which are ground and returned to granule form, giving back the "second raw material", i.e. a new life to the material that can then be injected into the Kartell mold and generate a design product.
The two companies collaborate with a view to a circular economy, from the quality of a widely consumed industrial product such as coffee pods comes an industrial project that generates beauty and is itself based on quality. The symbol of this project is a chair whose name is already intended to be an object of experimentation on recycled materials. Re-Chair, in fact, was designed by Antonio Citterio with recycled material and has now become the "Special Ambassador" of the illy caffè powered project.
