Ark Sofa - 2 Seater
Ark Sofa - 2 Seater produced by Normann Copenhagen from 2022, was created by Simon Legald together with the lounge seating collection of the same name. Ark in Danish means the arch, a word chosen as the name of this sofa to emphasise its softness and envelopment.
Ark Sofa - 2 Seater allows the rigour of geometry and the comfort of a warm embrace to coexist, without impactful contrasts but with great harmony. It has volumes defined by sharp lines highlighted by the raw seams. The peculiarity highlighted by the talented Danish designer is precisely the softening of these edges due to the abundant padding, which suggests at a glance all the comfort that the Ark sofa offers. The result is optically light, also thanks to the slender legs that lift it off the floor.

Young, curious and talented, Simon Legald is a Danish designer born in 1986. Graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenaghen, in 2012, he has shown immediately an extraordinary ability to put in dialogue between craftsmanship and industry. Legald’s projects highlight a remarkable honesty that brings him to combine functional aspects, psychic and aesthetic needs. Simple and essential shapes define the identity of the objects without useless details, in which structural features are able to communicate the idea behind product. From the beginning of his career, the thirty-year-old designer collaborated with the Danish brand Normann Copenhagen, realizing a great number of articles like the Form series.
